Free soccer drills

This is an easy way to explain the role of free soccer drills to the players. No specific rules exist. Being the coach you have the freedom to innovate and make your own drills and games.

It is also a good idea to keep your eyes and ears open to look for handy soccer exercises and alter them to suit your requirements. For creating an effective soccer training program, I have shared some of my ideas.

Your plan should be accommodative. Not every plan will materialize as planned. The kids will fall sick or may not turn up if it rains. All the potential obstructers are listed ensure they are handled properly.

It works well to have several soccer practice games ready. If some do not fit into your schedule, eliminate them and go to the next. You can learn what works with the kids by going along with them.

Soccer Drills

Prior warm up before any practice session is a must. Apart from warming up the body by regular soccer drill the kids should use the soccer ball also. Make the kids kick the ball back and forth apart from rotating the balls between their feet.

There is plenty of free soccer drills which are fun yet can be used for warm up activity.

It’s pertinent every player has access to a soccer ball. Now devise several individual activities that they can perform using the ball. They should practice shooting, dribbling, and hitting the ball to the wall etc. In order to prevent any restriction in movement of the players avoid using any lines or marks.

Ensure the players are part of some group activities during soccer coaching upon completion of the individual activities. For example; passing and receiving the ball are fun drills to practice. Let the kids play soccer in teams and without a goalkeeper. Don’t restrict the players by setting boundaries, at the same time they should be allowed to hit the goals.

Also, teach them to first attack and then defend. This style of coaching will enable the players to develop their own style.

It is mandatory the kids are grouped together as a team in group activities. Give the kids some time to learn the concept of team play while shifting from individual to group activities. The nature of interaction between coach and the players should be that of guidance only.

Teach the players the importance of playing as group to win matches. The drill ingrains the knowledge of playing as a group without doing much with the ball and to practice in a limited area.

A soccer exercise conducted in such a way is the easiest. Mix and match various free soccer drills that you think is the best way to teach the kids to learn.
