How to Safely Buy Manchester United Football Tickets Online

Monday, December 28th, 2009

When Purchasing for Manchester United football tickets online you should aware of how they operate because there will be some who are just scamming innocent Man United fans. Should you want genuine Manchester United Football tickets, then you need to find a business selling them online that is tried and trusted. It’s always a good idea to search for customer reviews before you purchase from a particular vendor. In addition to worries about getting ripped off by some dishonest site, you also want to avoid vendors that don’t deliver their goods on time. If your are reading a review on line you need to be able to tell the difference between someone’s genuine report and a virtual plug put there by the company of person. The best way to discern if a review is genuine or advertising is to look for a hyperlink towards the end of the review.

Customers don’t usually have a reason to post a link to the very product they are reviewing and a  legitimate customer reviewing a product is of that kind. Advertisers have found a new way to advertise since most email spam blockers today block their ads, and so they turn to reviews. There is a bigger chance for a review to be legit if a review is link free. Some people prefer to buy tickets on eBay because you can often find cheaper prices, but it is definitely a better idea to do business with a website specializing in tickets. Sometimes ticket sellers on eBay ship the ticket too late, and sometimes not even at all. Most people you do business with on eBay are honest but if you decide to purchase this way make sure you read their feedback to get a better idea of how professional they are.

Another way to avoid being scammed is to make sure the checkout page is encrypted before you type in ANY purchasing information. This is something that is extremely important, even though few people consider it during their checkout. What are the signs that will tell you if a web page is encrypted? You will see HTTP at the start of a website address Web pages which are encrypted contain “HTTPS” in their address, not the usual “HTTP”. It is important to make sure the page is encrypted even if the company is completely honest, because sometimes it does not show respect for the customers and the security of their personal information. You can be pretty certain that the vendor is safe to purchase from if their check out page is encrypted, and if they have good reviews.

It is also important to go with your gut and these guidelines are important to follow in order to avoid being scammed. Should a vendor’s pitch not seem plausible to you, avoid buying anything from that vendor. If something seems off then there is a good chance something is. When it comes to avoiding a scam artist, a little scrutiny goes a long way. Your job now is to find a price that is the best! You can buy with confidence the next time you shop on the web if you remember the information presented in this article.

The Red Army and Old Trafford

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Buying home game Manchester United tickets does not just provide an opportunity to see the Red Devils play live, it also provides the chance to soak in the atmosphere at Old Trafford, sometimes known as the Field of Dreams, and the home of the Red Army.

Apart from 8 years after it was bombed out during WWII, Manchester United tickets for home games at Old Trafford have been bought by fans since 1910.

The stadium was named Field of Dreams by one of its most renown players Bobby Charlton.

In 1966, Sir Robert “Bobby” Charlton, won the World Cup and was also named European Footballer of the year, in part because of his famous midfield attacks and his ferocious long-range shots.

Able to seat 76,212 Manchester United ticket buying supporters, Old Trafford is the second-largest of any English football stadiums, and it is one of two stadia in  England to have been given a  “UEFA elite stadium” five-star rating by UEFA.

As a neutral venue, Old Trafford has hosted many FA Cup semi-final matches and a number of  “English national football team” England international fixtures.

It has also hosted matches during the “1966 FIFA World Cup”  and  “UEFA Euro 1996″  and the “2003 UEFA Champions League Final”.

The Old Trafford playing field is surrounded by stands, officially known as the North, East, South and West Stands.

Each stand has at least two tiers, with the exception of the South Stand, which only has one tier because of construction restrictions.

The lower tier of each stand is split into Lower and Upper sections, the Lower sections having been converted from standing room only terraces in the early 1990s.

The West Stand at Old Trafford is the most famous, and is known as the  Stretford End.

The Stretford End stand was designed to hold 20,000 fans,  it was the last stand to be covered and also the last remaining all-terraced stand at the ground before the early 1990s ushered in seating only rules.

Stretford End is where Manchester United’s most die-hard supporters, known as The Red Army have their seats.

Much of the noise and atmosphere at Old Trafford emanates from this stand, and the roar from the Red Army there was once measured as louder than the roar of a jumbo jet lifting off.

There is practically no chance for anyone new to get a set in the Stretford End as the fans that fill this stand resubscribe to their Manchester United season tickets every year.

Manchester United’s fan’s, better known as the Red Army was once the biggest and most notorious group of followers British football has ever seen.

When the Red Army followed their team to an away game, the town would be in a uproar:  the fans would travel en-mass by train, coach, car or even by foot if necessary to get to the game.

During the mid-seventies when Manchester United had been relegated from the top flight of English football and played in the  “Football League Second Division” Second Division for one season, the Red Army caused such chaos at games around the country when visiting stadiums where they would often outnumber the home fans, that it led to the introduction of segregation and fencing between of home and away fans at football grounds throughout England.

These days, the Red Army is quite different to what it was in the 1970’s & 80’s.

This Manchester United supporters club, now has a fan base of over 300 million fans across the world.

The vast numbers of Manchester United fans, all of whom would like to visit the Field of Dreams, both to see the game and to experience the atmosphere there, result in it almost always being difficult to buy Manchester United Tickets.

The True Cost of Manchester United Season Tickets

Monday, October 26th, 2009

Demand almost always outstrips supply for those looking to buy Manchester United football tickets because the team has a huge following, and tickets are limited in number.

For many fans being able to purchase a ticket to even a single game at Old Trafford is so difficult that the thought of ever scoring a season ticket to see Manchester United play seems unbelievable.

However, if one looks more closely, the obvious advantages season ticket holders have of being guaranteed a seat for all home games and priority for away games, might be outweighed by the disadvantages.

Such as:
If the seat the season ticket holder scores in not in his area of choice, there is no way of getting it changed except by proving extreme medical hardship.

For this reason, there are those who choose not to renew their tickets at the end of the season, choosing instead to take their chances in the search for single tickets that may be in a more preferred stand.

The Manchester United Club policy known as the Automatic Ticket Scheme guarantees that every season ticket holder has a ticket for all Champions League and FA cup home games.

Even though this might appear to be a good thing, the season ticket holder is charged for each of these tickets even if he does not want to attend any of those games.

In  the last two seasons, there were 10 of these extra games played at Old Trafford – and with a single game ticket starting at almost 50 pounds, this extra cost on top of the already season ticket makes a significant difference.

Manchester United fans who spring for a season ticket thinking they can sell their unwanted tickets to games they can’t go to might find that that is not as easy to do these days as it was once.

Manchester United has an sanctioned ticket exchange where season ticket holders can put up their unwanted tickets for sale, but tickets cannot be posted there until the club announces that the game in question has been sold out.

There is no guarantee that the tickets put up for sale get sold, and the prospective seller not only loses the ticket he is unable to use, he is out the substantial listing and handling fee it cost him to post the seat for sale.

One cannot deny that the price of a season’s 16 single tickets is more expensive than a season ticket, but when the other costs – at least 500 extra pounds for the Cup games; the possibility of getting a seat in an undesirable part of Old Trafford; and the lack of guarantee of being able to sell any unwanted game tickets are added up, investing in season Manchester United tickets might not be worth it to even the most loyal fans.

Are Manchester United Tickets for Sale Online?

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

It has become increasingly harder to buy tickets online because of Manchester United’s worldwide popularity.

Buying from the team itself is the best option for getting Manchester United tickets online. One United fan club members can apply for tickets for every Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League match through a lottery. Before buying tickets, check that Manchester United will ship tickets out to your country. Sometimes tickets might have to be picked up at the Old Trafford box office.

If you did not win tickets to a match through the fan club lottery, you could try using a ticket agency or broker. Tickets to a number of Premier League games, including Manchester United matches can be bought on the Web. A reputable broker will be able to get you tickets to any game, however the prices of these tickets will usually be much higher than their face value, but unfortunately there are quite a few agencies who do not deliver on their promise to deliver tickets.

Who are the brokers who can be trusted to deliver the Manchester United tickets you’ve paid for? Due to the fact that the resale of tickets involving British clubs is illegal in the United Kingdom, there are some dubious brokers to avoid. A referral from a friend who has had a good experience with a particular broker is the best way to find one. Some football discussion boards might recommend good brokers and you can always post your own question asking about any experiences other fans have had with a particular broker. Another option is to do a Google search using the brokers name and ticket scam {e.g. “xyzbroker ticket scam” to see if any former customer has posted about a bad experience.~Another suggestion is to Google a broker’s name together with the words ticket scam {e.g. “xyzbroker ticket scam”} to see if anyone has posted about a bad experience with that broker.}

Before you buy tickets on line, contact the broker to find out exactly when you will receive your Manchester United tickets. Use a credit card rather than bank transfer, personal check or money order to receive maximum protection in case the tickets are not delivered as promised. An Ebay seller with good feedback can be a good source for tickets.
